Leader: Put your trust in the Lord, and do good,
People: So that we may live in the land and enjoy security.
Leader: Commit your way to the Lord.
People: Trust in him, and he will act.
Leader: Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath,
People: For fretting only leads to evil.
Leader: Turn from evil, and do good, and you will dwell in the land forever.
All: For the Lord will never forsake his faithful people.
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy God of all goodness and righteousness, we pray to you. We ask for your blessing today as we come together in your name. Listen to our faithful prayers. Hear our songs of praise. Bless us in your Word. And be a presence to all those who gather in your worship. We pray for this blessing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR GRACE
All: Holy Lord of grace and mercy, hear our prayer. Forgive us when we fail to live in the light of your good news. When we choose neglect over kindness, fear over love, and routine over revelation. Help us to hear your Holy Spirit calling us to new life. Move us to recognize your loving presence in our lives. Forgive us and bless us, O Lord. Through Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

One of the teachers of the Law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.”
