Leader: O Lord, we give you thanks with our whole hearts!
People: Before the heavens we sing your praise!
Leader: We bow down to your holy temple, giving thanks for your deep love and faithfulness!
People: For your name and your word are exalted above everything!
Leader: On the day we called you, you answered;
People: And you increased the strength of our souls.
Leader: All the kings of the earth will praise you, O Lord,
People: For they have heard the words of your mouth.
Leader: They shall sing the ways of the Lord,
People: For great is the glory of the Lord!
Leader: The Lord will fulfill his purpose for us;
All: For we are the work of his hands, and his steadfast love endures forever.
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy Lord, you hold the fate of your people in your hands. Our lives are filled with choices. We can choose what we do, where we live, how we act, and what we think. But the faith of your Holy Spirit is beyond our choosing. You put your loving kindness on each of our words, and the greatness of your Word in each of our mouths. Bless us to follow you and answer your call. Bless us to know only your ways and no other. Bless us to proclaim your glory through the name of our only Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
HYMN OF PRAISE “O God, Our Help in Ages Past” Hymn #78
PASSING OF THE PEACE
PRAYER FOR GRACE
All: Gracious God, we humbly ask your forgiveness. You have called us into your service, but we have not responded in faith. You have put your law in our minds and on our hearts, yet we still refuse to obey. You have invited us to love, and we have responded with fear. Most merciful God, forgive us for our actions and inactions. Lead us to be more faithful disciples. For the grace of your love we pray, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(Responsive Hymn #817) - Hear our prayer O Lord. Hear our prayer O Lord. Incline thine ear to us, and grant us Thy peace. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (Titus 3:4-6)
When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.
*Gloria Patri: Glory be to The Father
