VOTUM AND SALUTATION
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 31)
Leader: In you, O Lord, we seek our refuge;
People: Do not let us be put to shame, but deliver us in your righteousness.
Leader: Incline your ear to us and be our rock of refuge,
People: Be a strong fortress to save us.
Leader: Into your hand we commit our spirits,
People: For you have redeemed us, O Lord, our faithful God.
Leader: Let your face shine upon your servants,
All: And be with us in your steadfast love.
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy Lord, you love us as a mother loves her children. In the trials and evils of this world, you wrap us up in your embrace. You comfort, protect, and guide us. Though we often stray far from you, you always seek us out and welcome our return. And as many people come in to your house, there is always room for us. Lord, welcome us into your presence this morning, as we join our voices in praise of you. We pray this in your most holy name. Amen.

* HYMN OF PRAISE “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” - Organist Ben Benfer

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: Eternal God of grace and mercy, you love us as a mother, yet as your children we are rebellious. We reject your wisdom and your compassion, and rely on our own faulty judgments. Yet you remain faithful to us, more than we are to you. Accept us back into your embrace, and help us to remember your love for us. For the sake of your son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (Hebrews 10:16-18)
All: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time,” says the Lord. “I will put my laws in their hearts and write them on their minds.” Then He adds, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.”
SUMMARY OF THE LAW (Hebrews 12:14)
“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

INVITATION TO OFFERING
APOSTLES CREED
I believe in God the Father, almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
The third day he rose from the dead
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
CLOSING PRAYER, LORD’s PRAYER, & BENEDICTION
Almighty God,
Hear us in our time of distress.
We pray for the sick and the dying, that your healing and your comfort may be with them.
We pray for the caregivers, that you may shield and strengthen them against all harm.
We pray for the lonely, that they may know your love and the love of their neighbors.
We pray for ourselves, that you may preserve us by your providence,
and make us blessings to our neighbors, and beacons of your radiant light in the darkest night.
Make your love burn brightly in all your people, as we look forward to the day when we may once again gather together in joy under your holy name.
We pray these things in the name of our Holy Shepherd, Jesus Christ,
Who taught us to pray with the words,
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.
Amen.
All are invited to attend a virtual coffee hour via Zoom at 10:30am. Please e-mail dlmoore1517@gmail.com if you need the invitation or password.
