Leader: The Holy Spirit works in the hearts of the people;
People: Filling their hearts, and giving passion to their speech;
Leader: That all may know that the Lord is risen;
All: He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Eternal God of all life and light, hear our prayer. We join together today to praise you with one voice. In your Son, Jesus Christ, our lives are everlasting. In his resurrection we receive the sign of your work; that we, your creation, are reconciled to you. Lord, we are mortal and destined for the grave. But in Christ we are given new life, and the promise of everlasting reunion with you. We offer you our praise and prayers. Accept them as you accept us, and continue to bless us, your people. Through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord, we pray. Amen.
HYMN OF PRAISE “Thine is the Glory”
(hummed – not sung)
Thine is the glory, risen conquering Son;
Endless is the victory thou o'er death hast won.
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
Kept the folded grave-clothes where thy body lay.
Thine is the glory, risen conquering Son;
Endless is the victory thou o'er death hast won.
Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
Lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
Let his church with gladness hymns of triumph sing,
For the Lord now liveth; death hath lost its sting.
Thine is the glory, risen conquering Son;
Endless is the victory thou o'er death hast won.
No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of Life!
Life is naught without thee; aid us in our strife.
Make us more than conquerors through thy deathless love;
Bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above.
Thine is the glory, risen conquering Son;
Endless is the victory thou o'er death hast won.
PASSING OF THE PEACE
(Please remain in place, and greet your nearest neighbors with a wave and a blessing of peace)
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: God of all goodness and mercy, hear our confession. Though we know you to be a God of love, joy, and hope, we continue to live in fear. We deny our sin, but you see the truth in us. We deny your presence, even as you walk among us. Forgive us, God of grace. Breathe your Holy Spirit upon us, and free us from our doubt and sin. Let us be at peace with you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(Responsive Hymn #817 – to be hummed, not sung) - Hear our prayer O Lord. Hear our prayer O Lord. Incline thine ear to us, and grant us Thy peace. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (1 John 4:9-10)
All: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world, that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us as sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
*Gloria Patri: Glory be to The Father (hummed – not sung)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end, Amen, Amen.
SUMMARY OF THE LAW (Galatians 5:13-14)
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
HYMN FOR ILLUMINATION (seated) “Spirit of the Living God” Verse 1 (hummed – not sung)
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me;
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
SERMON HYMN “Amid the Thronging Worshipers”
(Hummed- not sung)
Amid the thronging worshipers the living Lord I bless;
Before my people, gathered here, God's name I will confess.
Come, sing with all who fear the Lord, you children of God's grace;
With reverence sound all glory forth and bow before God's face.
The burden of the sorrowful the Lord will not despise;
God has not turned from those who mourn but listens to their cries.
Such goodness makes me join the throng where saints this praise proclaim,
And there will I fulfill my vows with those who fear God's name.
You feed with good the humble ones and satisfy the meek,
And they shall live and praise you, Lord, who for your mercy seek.
The ends of all the earth take thought, the nations seek you, Lord.
They worship you, the Sovereign One, in earth and heaven adored.
Before you, Lord, the proud shall bow, the haughty with their trust.
They cannot keep themselves alive; they too return to dust.
But you, Lord, dwell beyond all time, deliverance to proclaim
To generations yet unborn who shall confess your name.

Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;

Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
The third day he rose from the dead
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, The holy catholic church,
The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting. Amen.

All for Jesus – you have loved us, all for Jesus – you have died,
All for Jesus – you are with us, all for Jesus crucified.
All for Jesus, all for Jesus, all our talents and our powers,
