Leader: Praise the Lord!
People: Happy are those who fear the Lord!
Leader: Their descendants will be mighty in the land;
People: The generation of the upright will be blessed!
Leader: They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright;
People: They are gracious, merciful, and righteous.
Leader: They are not afraid of evil tidings,
All: But their hearts are firm, and kept safe in the Lord!
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy God, we know that you are always with us. You are the source of all light, love, and life. Bless us in your worship this morning, and awaken us to the presence of your Spirit. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

PASSING OF THE PEACE
PRAYER FOR GRACE
All: Gracious God, you command us to love you and love each other. Yet we often ignore your presence in our lives. And we look at our neighbors with indifference or disdain. For these failings we pray for your mercy. Help us to embrace you once more. Open our eyes to see your people with love and compassion. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
