Leader: Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
People: I have taken an oath and confirmed it; that I will follow your righteous laws.
Leader: I have suffered much -
People: Preserve my life, Lord, according to your Word.
Leader: Accept, O Lord, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws.
People: Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law.
Leader: Your decrees are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.
All: My heart is set on keeping your Word until the very end.
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Almighty God, help us to know that you are with us. Listen to our prayers. Receive our praise. Accept our worship. And bless us all, as people of your creation. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
HYMN OF PRAISE “What God Ordains Is Always Right” Hymn #82
PASSING OF THE PEACE
PRAYER FOR GRACE
All: Most merciful God, we pray to you. You give us ears to hear, but we do not listen. You give us eyes to see, but we stay blind. You give us hands to help, but we keep them in our pockets. For the ways we fail to live into your gifts, we are sorry. Help us to embrace all that you have given us and fill our hearts with your faith. We pray this through the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
(Responsive Hymn #817) - Hear our prayer O Lord. Hear our prayer O Lord. Incline thine ear to us, and grant us Thy peace. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (Hebrews 10:16-18)
“This is the covenant I will make with them after that time,” says the Lord. “I will put my laws in their hearts and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.
