All: Holy God, you are the Lord of all nations. From all corners of the earth you gather your people together. Lord, look with favor on us who gather together in this small corner of your mighty kingdom. Bless us as we come together to sing your praises and worship your most holy name. Send your Holy Spirit upon us, and grant us your peace. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, I will sing, I will sing.
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever,

With my mouth will I make known your faithfulness, your faithfulness;
With my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord.
All the hosts of the angels sing God's praise forever for the things he has done.

All the hosts of the angels sing God's praise.
Who can be compared to God in faithfulness, in faithfulness?
Who can be compared to God in faithfulness to all generations?

PASSING OF THE PEACE
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: God of all hope and joy, we confess that we continue to live in fear. In Christ, you claim us as children, but we disobey your commands. In Christ, you call us as friends, but we have not been faithful to you. Forgive us, God of grace. By the power of your Holy Spirit, help us to abide in your love, and to share that love with others. For the sake of our Lord, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
(Responsive Hymn #817) - Hear our prayer O Lord. Hear our prayer O Lord. Incline thine ear to us, and grant us Thy peace. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (John 10:27-28)
All: [Jesus answered], “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one shall snatch them out of my hand.”
*Gloria Patri: Glory be to The Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end, Amen, Amen.
SUMMARY OF THE LAW (1 John 4:7-8)
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
HYMN FOR ILLUMINATION (seated) “Spirit of the Living God” Verse 1
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me;
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
SERMON HYMN “Be Thou My Vision”
Be thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that thou art -
Thou my best thought by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.
Be thou my Wisdom, and thou my true Word,
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord;
Thou and thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure thou art.
High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven't joys, O bright heaven's Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
SCRIPTURE READINGS – Acts 10:39-48

*APOSTLES CREED
I believe in God the Father, almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
The third day he rose from the dead
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, The holy catholic church,
The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting. Amen.
JOYS & CONCERNS – MORNING PRAYER – THE LORD'S PRAYER
(Lord’s Prayer – “…sins / …those who sin against us…”)
*CLOSING HYMN “Holy Spirit, Light Divine”
Holy Spirit, Light divine, shine upon this heart of mine;
Chase the shades of night away, turn my darkness into day.
Holy Spirit, Power divine, cleanse this guilty heart of mine;
Long has sin without control held dominion o'er my soul.
Holy Spirit, Joy divine, cheer this saddened heart of mine;
Bid my many woes depart, heal my wounded, bleeding heart.
Holy Spirit, all divine, dwell within this heart of mine;
Cast down every idol throne, reign supreme, and reign alone.
*CLOSING PRAYER & BENEDICTION
*CHORAL POSTLUDE: "Lord, Dismiss Us with your Blessing"
(hummed – not sung)
Lord, dismiss us with your blessing; fill our hearts with joy and peace;
Let us each, your love possessing, triumph in redeeming grace;
O direct us and protect us, traveling through this wilderness.
