CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 90)
Pastor: Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations;
People: Before the mountains were born; before you brought forth the whole world; from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Pastor: Lord we pray that you will teach us to have hearts of wisdom
People: And that you will have compassion on your servants.
Pastor: Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
People: That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Pastor: May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us and establish the work of our hands.
All: Yes, Lord. Show us your favor and establish the work of our hands for us.
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy God, you gave us lips to sing your praises, feet to walk in your ways, and hands to do your works. You have filled us with love for you, and we praise and serve you with joy in our hearts. Bless us, we pray, as we worship you, sing to you, and glorify your holy name. Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
PASSING OF THE PEACE
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: Holy Lord of redemption and salvation, we confess our sin to you and ask your mercy. We confess that we have not held true to the laws you gave us. We confess that we harden our hearts against our neighbors instead of loving them. We confess that we are sinful and that you alone can redeem us. We humbly repent and ask your forgiveness. For the sake of your son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
(Responsive Hymn) - Hear our prayer O Lord. Hear our prayer O Lord. Incline thine ear to us, and grant us Thy peace. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (John 3:14-16)
Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.
*Gloria Patri: Glory be to The Father Hymn #805
