Leader: May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

People: Who touches the mountains and they smoke;
Leader: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
People: I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
Leader: May my meditation be pleasing to him;
People: For I rejoice in the Lord.
Leader: Bless the Lord, O my soul!
All: Praise the Lord!
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy God and Creator of all things, we pray to you. Turn our hearts towards you. Turn our feet away from sin and towards righteous paths. You are our Lord and we are your people. Look on us with favor. And pour your Holy Spirit out on all your people who worship you today. We ask this blessing in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: Holy God of Goodness and Mercy, hear our prayer. You have sent us your Word to give us life, yet we remain dry bones. You have sent us your Spirit to empower us, yet we refuse to dream new dreams. You have given us all we need to love you, yet we remain enthralled by our own selves. Forgive us, God of grace. Lead us according to your way. Guide us into your truth. And deliver us from death into life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (John 5:24)
All: “Very truly, I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged, but has crossed over from death to life.”
SUMMARY OF THE LAW (Matthew 5:38-44)
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

INVITATION TO OFFERING
APOSTLES CREED
I believe in God the Father, almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
The third day he rose from the dead
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
CLOSING PRAYER, LORD’s PRAYER, & BENEDICTION
Almighty God,
Hear us in our time of distress.
We pray for the sick and the dying, that your healing and your comfort may be with them.
We pray for the caregivers, that you may shield and strengthen them against all harm.
We pray for the lonely, that they may know your love and the love of their neighbors.
We pray for those who have lost jobs and who suffer in financial insecurity.
We pray for ourselves, that you may preserve us by your providence,
and make us blessings to our neighbors, and beacons of your radiant light in the darkest night.
Make your love burn brightly in all your people, as we look forward to the day when we may once again gather together in joy under your holy name.
We pray these things in the name of our Holy Shepherd, Jesus Christ,
Who taught us to pray with the words,
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.
Amen.
All are invited to attend a virtual coffee hour via Zoom at 10:30am. Please e-mail [email protected] if you need the invitation or password.
