All: May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him.
PRAYER OF PRESENCE
All: Holy Lord, we ask for your blessing as we offer you our worship. We have come to give thanks for your providence. To ask for mercies in our lives. To give you praise and adoration. And to simply be with you and each other. We all come with different spiritual needs, knowing that you alone can fill all our hearts and make us all whole. We pray for your blessing in the presence of your Holy Spirit, through the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
* HYMN OF PRAISE “Majesty, Worship His Majesty”
(hummed – not sung)
Majesty, worship his majesty; unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.
Majesty, kingdom authority, flow from his throne unto his own, his anthem raise.
So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus; magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King.
Majesty, worship his majesty; Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.
PASSING OF THE PEACE
(please stand, but remain in place, and greet your nearest neighbors with a wave and a blessing of peace)
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: Holy God, your love knowns no bounds. Forgive us when we try to confine it. Your grace is for all people. Forgive us when we try to restrain it. Your Spirit beckons us to follow. Forgive us when we choose not to listen. Lord, forgive us for all the ways we fall short, and make our hearts new in your Spirit, that we may love and serve you. For the sake of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray; Amen.
(Responsive Hymn #817 – to be hummed, not sung) - Hear our prayer O Lord. Hear our prayer O Lord. Incline thine ear to us, and grant us Thy peace. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE (Matthew 11:28-30)
All: [Jesus said], “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
*Gloria Patri: Glory be to The Father (hummed – not sung)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end, Amen, Amen.
SUMMARY OF THE LAW (Romans 13:8-10)
“Let no debt remain outstanding except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments – ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not covet,’ and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”
HYMN FOR ILLUMINATION (seated) “Spirit of the Living God” Verse 1 (hummed – not sung) Hymn #297
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me;
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
SERMON HYMN “Come, All Christians, Be Committed” (verses 1 & 3)
Come, all Christians, be committed to the service of the Lord;
Make your lives for him more fitted, tune your hearts with one accord.
Come into his courts with gladness, all your sacred vows renew,
Turn away from sin and sadness, be transformed with life anew.
Come in praise and adoration, all who on Christ’s name believe;
Worship him with consecration, grace and love will you receive.
For his grace give him the glory, for the Spirit and the Word,
And repeat the gospel story until all his name have heard.

As one in desert lands, whose very flesh is flame,
In burning love I lift my hands and bless his name.
God is my strong defense in every evil hour;
In him I face with confidence the tempter’s power.
I trust his mercy sure with truth and triumph crowned;
My hope and joy forevermore in him are found.
